Carol Stanley, PhD, provides services to individuals, couples and families. She has a special interest in working with couples who are having difficulty communicating or experiencing other forms of marital distress. Dr. Stanley specializes in working with adolescent issues as well as concerns about mid-life career changes with women. She provides consultation services for schools and corporations regarding employee motivation issues, as well as specific employee problems in the workplace.

Dr. Stanley's orientation is from a Systems perspective. This means she regularly encourages people to find healing within the circle of friends and family who surround them. Dr. Stanley also maintains an extensive referral list of other professionals who can add assistance to the healing process. This referral lists includes medical doctors, traditional and eastern oriented, Psychiatrists, and program information such as Anger Management Classes and Parenting Workshops. Dr. Stanley regularly attends Continuing Education to keep her knowledge current and up-to-date.

Dr. Stanley is also Visiting Core Faculty at Antioch University, Seattle in the Graduate Psychology department. (2005-current). She is an active supporter of Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She has recently been appointed a member of the Washington Mental Health Advisory Committee for the State of Washington. The American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) has certified her as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. These are the highest designations possible. Having obtained her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology supports her membership in the American Psychology Association (APA).

Recently Dr. Stanley has become aware and interested in Trauma work, especially on an International level. Joining the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA) has helped keep her aware of the work being done around the world to help families.

Dr. Stanley obtained a BA in Speech Communication from Whittier College in 1974. Her Master's degree was obtained in 1992 from City University in Seattle, WA and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University.
